I'm a health behavior scientist, gerontologist and health/life transition coach specializing in bone health for falls and fracture prevention. What makes me unique is my "exercise in disguise" approach, with curated exercises, activities and tools, including walking poles pairing as exercise, yoga and dance partners to improved bone fitness.
My byte-size total well-being approach evolved from my longstanding research career in exercise and health promotion, disease management, addictions and aging. I have a Ph.D. in Community Health from the University of Toronto where I was an adjunct professor, and I was a former National Cancer Institute of Canada postdoctoral fellow. I worked at renowned teaching hospitals, consulted to pharmaceutical companies and health organizations about the patient disease journey experience, and taught chronic disease and osteoporosis exercise classes.
But .... I'm not a stuffy health behavior scientist who coaches people to better health through hard data. I'm a patient too and on my own journey from post-menopausal osteoporosis to current osteopenia.
My interest in bone health started when my mother fell and broke her hip in 2012 and again in November 2024. A certified yoga instructor, avid pole walker and salsa dancer, I have the most up-to-date, specialized Bone Fitness, Balance and Falls Prevention leader training to deliver programs in older adult communities.
Ready to build strong bones to add vitality and awesomeness along your aging adventure? I cannot wait to help you get started!
