Hello, I'm Dr. Kim.
I'm byte-sized (5 feet small) and so is my brand!
My idea for producing video fitness micro-breaks happened by chance. In the spring of 2012, I gave a presentation about a workplace bone health program at a Business of Aging Summit held in Toronto. To demonstrate the program, I asked attendees to stand up and participate in a 5-minute exercise session. It was amazing to see the shift in the energy levels and attitudes of the attendees.
The atmosphere in the room had transformed - no longer were the participants looking bored and tired, but instead, they looked happy and engaged!
The fitness break was so well received that one of the attendees asked if he could fly me out west to deliver a live fitness break at an upcoming conference. Initially I thought, why not? But, I began to think, why should a company incur my travel expenses, when instead I could provide a fitness break via video at much more affordable cost!
Since 2012, I created 58 video micro-breaks that have been used by meetings and conferences across North America to engage and energize participants while creating a memorable experience.
I’ve since pioneered conference wellness with my X bytes video stretch breaks, wellness lounges, professional wellness speaking, thought leadership and freelance writing with the meetings and hospitality industry (MPI, MPI PYM, PCMA, IAEE, IMEX, TSNN, IBTM America, CIC Conclave, CSPI, Connect, HSMAI, Experient, NACE, IRF, DMAI, Connect, Hyatt Regency, Marriott International, etc.), human resources (SHRM, CHRA, and SHRM north-east chapters), associations meetings, and workplaces.
And ... just pre-COVID, I became a RYS200 Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor - now adding mind-body balance to my wellness talks and immersive experiences.
