Walk With MeMy Byte-Size Wellness approach evolved from my longstanding research career in exercise and health promotion, disease management, substance use and aging. I have a Ph.D. in Public Health from the University of Toronto where I was an adjunct professor, and I was a former National Cancer Institute of Canada postdoctoral fellow. I worked at renowned teaching hospitals, consulted to pharmaceutical companies and health organizations about the patient disease journey experience, and taught chronic disease exercise classes.
But .... I'm not a stuffy health behavior scientist who coaches people to better health through hard data. I'm on a mission to make self-care simple, shifting from an "all-or-nothing" mindset to a micro-habits lifestyle. The small steps and changes in routines, when repeated consistently, lead to healthy habits and long-standing results.
I embody wellness: yogi (200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher), mindfulness maven (trained in Jon Kabat-Zinn’s mindfulness-based stress reduction and Kristen Neff's Mindful Self-Compassion), dance diva, exercise enthusiast and instructor (pole walking, bone fitness, functional fitness, chronic disease and older adult exercise), and health/life coach (120-hour Jay Shetty Certification School).
